Everly Brothers All I Have To Do Is Dream (4 CD-SET) America’s Dream Boys – The Everly Brothers are Isaac Donald, born in Brownie, Kentucky in 1937, and Philip Everly, born in Chicago in 1939 - better known as Don and Phil and most famous as "The Everly Brothers". Their parents already performed as folk singers and as a foursome (Don was eight at the time, Phil was six); the Everlys toured from school to school and appeared at minor festivals. It was none less than Chet Atkins who fetched the brothers to Nashville to make first recordings with them in 1955 but following an unsuccessful attempt with Columbia it was Archie Bleyer (owner of the Cadence label) who eventually signed the Everlys in 1957. The duo rocketed to fame and fortune, helped along by the songwriting team Felice and Boudleaux Bryant; between 1957 and 1984 the Everlys made the American pop charts 36 times and were an acclaimed super act all over the world. The brothers went their separate ways in 1973, each trying his luck as a solo artist - but only enjoyed moderate success. In 1983 the brothers celebrated a magnificent re-union but were denied any more major hits. PACKAGE SIZE: 13 X 13.5 X 2 CM (APPROX.) DESCRIPTION: 12 PAGES BOOKLET (ENGLISH / GERMANY) / MONO / STEREO / ADD / MADE IN THE EU |
