Various – Flamenco (4 CD-SET)
Flamenco - a typical southern Spanish art form that appears in three forms: the song ("cante"), the dance ("baile") and the guitar music ("guitarra"). There are numerous theories regarding the origins of this musical style, but how flamenco really emerged remains unclear to this day. It has been established that both the folk music and dances of Andalusia and the Gitanos (the Spanish "Gypsies") contributed to the development of the early flamenco. The Moors, who occupied Andalusia for at least 700 years, may have also had a musical influence. The first written reference to this musical art form was in 1774 and the first flamenco schools opened between 1765 and 1860 in the Andalusian cities of Cadiz, Jerez de la Frontera and Triana (Province Seville).
