A Walk to Dixneyland
JAZZ: A selection from Walt Disney’s soundtracks in Dixie Style. Recorded in Mantova (Italy) on September 3-4 2003.Ludomentis, this time without the collaboration of Velut Luna, presents here their personal performance taken from a tribute to the most famous soundtracks of Walt Disney films: themes from The Jungle book, Mary Poppins, The Aristocats, 101 Dalmatians, The Lion King, all of them interpreted in a perfect Dixie style. The Tiger Dixie Band is one of the few international ensembles devoted to the Jazz music of the roaring twenties and to a modern reinterpretation of this style: the typical atmospheres of New Orleans or Chicago, the spirit of the Charleston and of the Ragtime are here strictly respected, thanks also to the use of some of the original instruments. The magical taste of this work, though, is due to the great reinvention that every single musician of the Dixie Band is capable to perform, something almost impossible to separate from the unique smoothness of the overall sound (perfect both for its arrangement and improvisation).
