Therfore such legends such as the Dutch Swing College Band, Pia Beck an Rita Reys were able to emerge from this amazing country. These legends formed the base for a whole new generation of brilliant musicians who worked their way up on world wide stages, to the ranks of internationally acclaimed jazz musicians.
Dutch Jazz Legends is a new chapter in Dutch jazz history. Directed by Ben van den Dungen (Woody Shaw, Mal Waldron) and Michael Varekamp (Dutch Swing College Band, Scott Hamilton) this new generation is ready to touch your heart and ears with their conception of this unique and timeless art form. Refering to the glory days of jazz. This first album of Dutch Jazz Legends is soulful, touching and irresistible swinging it's the third release of our series Celebrating the art & spirit of music.

Celebrating the art & Spirit of Music volume 3 : The Dutch Jazz Legends
STS Digital的爵士音樂錄音特色，與日本Venus的取向相當不同。Venus的Hyper Magnum Sound，是要令聽者以零距離去欣賞樂手們的演出，聽者幾乎是可以伸手摸得到的；而STS Digital則恰好相反，聽者的位置，是在場地觀眾席的前排中央，離樂手們較遠，要令聽者清晰看到整個大舞臺。STS Digital的《Circle Percussion》，錄音咪是Set在遠離大太鼓的觀眾席上，使到連大太鼓這種巨大樂器也能有清晰明確的定位，而這張《Celebrating the art & Spirit of Music volume 3》，聽者就是坐在Studio內，錄音師的席位上，樂手們的所在位置一目了然，而且Sound Stage高企，非常著重3D立體感，音色帶有絲絲暖意，好聽耐聽，是百份百令人陶醉的音樂感染力。
The Dutch Jazz Legends，顧名思義，就是荷蘭國內的神級爵士音樂人。被譽為Legends的兩人，是吹trumpet的Michael Varekamp與tenor saxophone的Ben van den Dungen。加上Jasper Soffers(鋼琴)，Marius Beets(Double Bass)和Joost Patock(鼓)，成為Ben van den Dungen爵士五人組。CD內的15首樂曲，全部是我們熟悉的經典名作，例如Sophisticated Lady、Somewhere Over The Rainbow、Mona Lisa、What's New、My Funny Valentine等等，他們演繹方式是斯文的，聽者的耳朵不會有半點壓力；但並不會覺得沉悶，因為全是充滿喜悅的節奏，從容不迫，自在舒懷。Fritz de With在CD封套內叫各位Sit back and enjoy！晚上在家中，用真空管器材，閉上眼睛去聽這張碟，不需要扭大音壓，我完全可以進入relax狀態，心情亦隨輕鬆的音樂愉快起來。Jazz Legends的音樂精髓我全都感受得到。當然，這是一張發燒碟，發燒元素多的是；發燒友們只要細意去聽，肯定是充滿驚喜呢！
